5 Reasons Your Boss Hates the Image “Fire”

(The following list is solely for entertainment purposes and is in no way meant to represent all bosses, especially considering I am one…)

So you fell in love with my image “Fire.” She warms your soul and brightens your outlook.

Fire by Joy Landa - Soft Pastel on Pastel Paper
Yaaaaaay!!

Alas, all is not well. For secretly, after you put that 4-foot wide version in your cubicle, your boss has been giving you a severe case of the stink-eye. Why? Here are the five most probable reasons:

5. All that fiery warmth makes you feel comfortable inside the freezing building, and everyone knows employees can’t function unless their fingers have frostbite.

4. NUDITY! Well…of the…light…silhouette kind…but surely it’s implied!

3. Bursting through personal obstacles means you’re probably going to be looking for a better job soon, and then the boss will have to…gulp…interview new candidates!

2. The symbol of personal empowerment goes against corporate policy.

And finally…

1. Since the boss is a personal representative of darkness and evil, the idea of bursting forth light is just plain offensive.

So if you notice the boss grumbling a little more than usual after purchasing your print and displaying it with pride and love in your tiny cell of the corporate world, now you know why. Have some compassion and understanding. The boss is just jealous he or she didn’t think to buy it first, and now will look like a copycat. Assure him or her. Say, “It’s okay. You can get one, too! I’ll say I got the idea from you!”

Maybe you’ll wind up with another print come the Holiday Season!

Wait, you don’t have a print of “Fire”? EGAD! What are you waiting for? Get one now before the boss does!
